Could someone explain me why Iowa voted so massively for Michael Dukakis, who heavily lost countrywide, in 1988 ?
Dukakis won by more than 10 points in this state, more than Obama in 2008 or Clinton in 1992. Obama should have won this state by more than 25 points to do so well ! That's particularly astonishing if you consider that this state was traditionally strongly republican : form 1940 to 1984, only Johnson could win it - and in a countrywide lanslide.
So, why ?
