Ok...Let's say Obama catches alot more heat from the Rev. White fiasco last year(Maybbe footage emerges of Barack sitting in Service during one of the fiery sermons). And Hillary is able to convince enough Super Delegates to swing her way and she barely clinches the nomination. Many Blacks, feel as if Hillary had stolen the nomination from them and there is a major feer of Carthsis with the Democratic base. However, Clinton refuses the idea of a unity ticket with Barack...and Instead decides to go with shoring up her Foriegn Policy credentials by adding former NATO Commander and 2004 Presdiential Candidate Wesley Clark as her running mate.
McCain, jumps on the oppurtunity to seemingly pull a large portion of disconsolate black votes into the Republican fold. He chooses popular former Congressman J.C. Watts of Oklahoma as his running mate. It is seen as a popular pick, however the economy still sinks as it did IOTL.
So with a comfortable pull of Black voters into the Republican party and no Palin-gaffe's can McCain do better electorally in such an anti-republican enviorment?
