I say yes.

As Bill Maher pointed out, there are few things it's tough to see Jesus opposing more than nationalism.

Whoops, I read the question in my mind as "Are BRTD's polls thoughtless bouts of wankery?" and automatically voted "yes."

If I put nationalism above God, then I could understand this thread.  But, knowing the facts, this is one of the dumbest threads ever.

Yes. Much better to burn a fucking flag than revere it in any way. Idoltary to the extreme. No way I'm ever saying that Pledge of Allegiance with or without "under God". Regardless of if it's in there it's still idoltary.

And if you sleep on top of your Bible, does that mean you put yourself ahead of God? Smiley

Funny... in fact, one of the things that Revelations specifically states that one of the things the anti-Christ will do is unite all secular states under his banner (not in those words, but that is what is suggested)... i.e. One world government.

Therefore, it would seem that to be completely anti-nationalistic, in a secular sense, would be to anti-Christian.

I have to agree.

J's sig is just a two-parter.  The flag is part one. The Gospel message is part two. I don't see any attempt to link the two, unless I am missing something.  And if I know Jmfcst, much as we disagree on almost everything, if he had to choose between the flag and Jesus, he'd chuck old glory in a New York minute.

As would I.

I am a hypocrite because I have a flag in my sig?  figures...I guess if I wear an alligator on my tit, it means I'm into bestiality (sorry Ralph Lauren, I would have used your shirt as an example, but I didn't want anything to do with the dude riding the horse)

I say yes.

As Bill Maher pointed out, there are few things it's tough to see Jesus opposing more than nationalism.

and...as you can see in Acts 17:26-27, included in my new sig, it was God himself who created nationalism.  You and your buddy Bill Maher should really spend more time reading the bible, instead of assuming what God opposes; for one of the chief purposes of scripture is to cast down our vain imaginations:

2Cor 10:3-5  "3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

So, not only does my sig have a new picture, it includes a new passage as a little memento of this occasion.
