I got a 152 score, or conservative.  It was a pretty crappy test, though.

I took it a second time while listening to Billie Jean and got a 131 score.  Hm.

313: Extremely Progressive

Not suprising. Though if it had more questions on the free market then I would have been more moderate.

A little biased, a little skewed, a little dumb... but overall, a relatively good test.

174/400. Conservative.

This test brands Conservatives as dirtbags in some questions, by the way.

Doesn't surprise me, given its use of the loaded term "progressive." What questions are you referring to, specifically?

Well what did you expect from 'The Center For American Progress'?

That's actually something that pisses me off a lot lately. Describing your views as 'Progressive' is such an incredibly pretentious sounding term and an obvious attempt at spin. Why do media liberals seize on that term so much lately? I've never heard anyone in real life actually call themselves that. If you feel it's that 'liberal' is that un-salvageable of a term then just go with left leaning or something....

Although I suppose 'Conservatives' set themselves up for that given the obvious implications of that term too.

News-flash: All political labels/terms have some sort of pretentious condescending implication.

Until recently the only implications for Liberal and Conservative have been that the former emphasizes equality of opportunity/freedom and the later emphasizes small government/preserving the best of America. Of course the terms have been spun and misused beyond recognition at this point. Besides that, you have to admit that almost no one in real life calls themselves 'Progressive' except for the media and academia.

If you simply admit that you're just going after the term "Progressive" then we're fine here. My point is that every political label has some sort of condescending implication towards everyone who doesn't have them, that's the entire point of a political label. Liberal implies Conservatives don't value social justice, freedom, and equality. Conservative implies Liberals don't value order, tradition, and respect. Even "Moderate" implies everyone else is irrational and/or extreme.

You're either just nagging about the term "Progressive" or your entire point is worthless if you admit every political term has an insulting implication.

Not necessarily (or at least, not to the same degree).  But yes my primary problem is with the term 'Progressive' because of the general elitist attitude of the people who use it and the clear implication that anyone who disagrees is backward. Liberal had no such blatant connotation.
