Tengo una pregunta.

Can "todo el mundo" be used to refer to everyone in a small, but well-understood, reference group (as with the English terms "everyone" and "everybody")? Or does the "el mundo" have real teeth?

Depends on the context, but basically, you'd just say "todos" for everyone; so 'everyone here' would be todos aqui. If it's a well-defined group and all participants know you're directly talking about that group, you could say 'a todo/s'.

But...i'm not quite fluent yet. Smiley

as a brown, I can tell you that "todo el mundo" is the most widely-used way to say "everyone" or "everybody"

Sort of. I'm decent at interpreting it because that's mostly what my mom speaks at home. I'm not used to speaking it though.

Todo el mundo can be used to mean everyone or everything. It doesn't have to mean the whole world.

you live in Idaho and you're half white. You've an excuse.

I'm nearly fully Hispanic, and I live in North Cuba. My spoken Spanish is hardly sufficient to have a conversation with my own grandmother. I don't have an excuse.

Pero, si conjugues un verbo, no podrías decir si fuera condicional o pretérito o pluscuamperfecto Wink
