Jedi with 60% approval? He's the best PPT in recent memory.

Rankings aren't based on actual performance in the Senate. Even look at IRL: Nancy Pelosi is hated for her job as Speaker, but her constituents don't really care.

Yes, that's because of the Senate's complete detachment and unrelatedness to everyday Atlasia (which isn't necessarily the Senate's fault).  I certainly had no idea that MasterJedi was considered "the best PPT in recent memory" until afleitch said so.  In fact, I have no idea what makes a "good" PPT and a "bad" one, because I have little to no knowledge of the job performance of recent PPTs.

Yeah, it was clear from the approvals that many people in Atlasia really don't follow Senate business. If they did, MasterJedi & Purple State would both be close to 100%.

I don't want to be harsh, MasterJedi is a great PPT, but he doesn't debate and improve bills with other senators.

And Purple State presided over the apparently unpopular Constitutional Convention, which made him unpopular enough to be the subject of a recall within the convention (though of course it failed).

True, though after following the Senate & then being a Senator through so many mediocre & subpar PPTs, I hold any good one that comes along in high regard.

However, this is about his job as Senator, not Presiding Officer at the Convention. As Senator, he has done a fine job of proposing compromises that please both the RPP & JCP Senators.

The Convention definitely hurt my image, but if that's the sacrifice necessary to get that sort of debate started so be it.

Regarding MasterJedi, I think it's hard to be both PPT and be as actively engaged in the debates as one would usually be. Just look at my attempt to be both Presiding Officer of the ConCon and a contributing member. It didn't work out too well. Wink MJ has done a great job keeping the flow of legislation constant, keeping debate in the Senate moving and of remaining impartial, despite the power he holds in the Senate.

As to the general lack of awareness of Senate action, it is important that our news agencies try to pick up the slack there. The news sources are already popular with citizens and should be letting everyone know what's going on. Interviews and election tracking is nice, but a little more detail on what we are doing in the chamber would help close the gap for those who don't visit the Senate threads so often.

Yeah, I've been slacking off lately.

BTW, even if I win the Midwest Governorship, I plan on still running the Sentinel. However, I won't cover anything that has to do with myself or my region, conflict of interest and all that.

I guess what I can take from those results is that I seem to be only popular among members of my own party. Smiley

Official Announcement-
In the future the following color scheme will be used for the parties in concordence with there official party colors.
RPP-dark khaki
JCP-Green
DA-Light Blue
LNF-Red

We will continue to identify the members of the JCP as JCP even if they change names, because the amount of effort and money it will take to change all of our files and records make it not worth the effort. We apoligize to the members of the JCP for this inconvience? Tongue
