http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/Vote2004/bush_kerry_poll_040927.html

LVs

Bush 51
Kerry 45
Nader 1

RVs

Bush 51
Kerry 44
Nader 2

Again, Bush does a bit better RVs vs LVs (! - a trend ?)

Job Approval 52%

Favorability:

Bush +14 (52/38)
Kerry -5 (37/42)

Among the RVs:

GOPers break 91/6 for Bush
Dems go 81/16 for Kerry
Indys go 51/44 for Bush

This item in the article was, to me, just amazing (?) and if true is very bad news for Mr. Kerry:

In an indication of the level of effort being expended by both campaigns, 15 percent of registered voters say they've personally been contacted by a representative of the Bush campaign asking for their vote. About the same number, 14 percent, have been contacted by Kerry's campaign. In the 13 most closely contested states, however, Bush has an advantage: Twenty-seven percent say they've been contacted by Bush's campaign, compared with 15 percent who've been contacted by Kerry's.

On more log on the fire Wink

More complete results here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/polls/trend092704.html

Once again, Bush's lead is larger among RV's than among LV, by one point here.

Maybe I just glossed over it, but what were the actual numbers for registered voters?  Did it say?

Someone posted on another site they thought Bush was one point better with registered.    ??

"Kerry's favorability rating, the most basic measure of a public figure's popularity, underscores his challenge: Just 37 percent of registered voters view him favorably, 42 percent unfavorably — more unfavorable than favorable, and essentially unmoved since earlier his month. Bush's rating, by contrast, is 52 percent to 38 percent favorable."

Kerry can't win with a 37% favorablility rating...anyone know Kerry's favorability numbers in OH, FL, and WI?

The Vorlon,

DUDE, you're editing my post!

Damn.. Dave added all these darn extra buttons.. Sad

Ok - I un-edited it.. I think, hope, maybe,, I guess.. Shocked

Mason-Dixon polls asked the question - very similar to the 37-42 shown here.. varied a bit state by state..

In PA Kerry was +5 (40/35)

In Wisconsisn -2 (37/39)

Most states are +/- 40/40 or so for Kerry

Is what the bottom of the poll is saying that there 35% GOP 36% Dem in this poll? And the last was 38% GOP 32% Dem? If that is true then this is good news for the President. Anyone know what his job approval was in the last ABC poll?

So this means that 7% of those who are voting for him don't have a favorable opinion of him?  That doesn't make sense to me.  Let's see I have an unfavorable opinion of both Kerry and Bush but I'm voting for Kerry.  Is that what people are thinking?

If Bush hadn't run such a negative campaign, you wouldn't be seeing weird sh**t like that.

More like if Republicans stood up for what they believe in we wouldnt have these problems.

Fiscal conservatism is the stance that the government must "live within its means". Above all, fiscal conservatives oppose excessive government debt; this belief in balanced budgets tends to be coupled with a belief that government welfare programs should be narrowly tailored and that tax rates should be low, which implies relatively small government institutions.
This belief in small government combines with fiscal conservatism to produce a broader economic conservatism, which wishes to minimize government intervention in the economy. This amounts to support for laissez faire economics. This economic conservatism comes from two schools of thought: the classical conservative's pragmatism and the libertarian's notion of "rights." The classical conservative maintains that free markets work best, while the libertarian contends that free markets are the only ethical markets.

Couldn't be viewed as favourable tp Kerry if he's below campaign-wise? At least that's something that can be improved by simply putting in some work and money.

Hmmmm . . . you fail to recall that it was the Democrats/Kerry who initiated the negative campaigning this election year.  So why don't you point out the faults in others before taking care of the ones in your own house.  And take your Soros with you.
