Let's look at the issues:

Iraq:
Both will want to leave. Churchill b/c occupying another country for no reason is a terrible military strategy, Atlee b/c he let many British colonies free. Churchill would follow through better, while Atlee would leave Iraq alone. Remember India in 1948? Churchill wins

Social Services:
Atlee will revamp Social Security and medicare and increase other services. Churchill will leave everything to be.

I don't have much time, so I'll continue tomorrow. Can someone show a potential map?

I guess I would be a swing voter leaning Atlee.

Hey, now this is an interesting thought. Attlee of course won the 1945 General Election in a landslide during WW2 (War in Asia had not yet finished) forming the first real Socialist/Labour administration in the UK (discounting Ramsay McaDonalds failed coalitions) Attlee of course set in motion the welfare state, free health care and disbandment of the Empire. In 1945, during the election he actively out smarted the Communist Party, who thought it could capitalise (pardon the pun!) on the general dissaray. The Communists did very poorly, and so Britain did not become like France and Italy, which in the post-war eras had very strong Communist parties. After Labours defeat in 1951, the Conservatives remained supportive of the welfare state which continued straight through until the rise of Thatcher.

Churchill/Churchill

I couldn't imagine a person actually voting for Clement Atlee over Winston Churchill!

Never, ever have I understood that election. The sheep in sheep's clothing vs the modern Cassandra- seems a no brainer, right?

Bush's current WW2 strategy is extremely Churchillian- no peace for the wicked, usher into an entire new era for the region and world. Churchill would probably have gone into Iran by now.

I don't think so. You don't go for war just to get reelected. And Churchill planned ahead his postwar strategy. Unlike Bush.
