Ok' since my last thread on how we could get a plausible Ferraro Presidency was that plausible at all lol. So same premise, Ferraro releases her husband's tax returns in '84 allowing her to cature  the D'amato's seat in '86, she let's Dukakis sink and fail in '88 while building on her own base to ensure the nomination victory in 1992. After a tough Primary battle with Gov. Clinton, she wins the nomination and choses Bubba as he running mate(A Charismatic, Young, Moderate and Southern Governor). How does the General turn out?

Yeah, I also forsee Perot sticking it out for the entirety of the campaign,as he would be able to further define himself as the Centrist candidate unlike having to share that role with Clinton as in OTL. I could see him winning alot of the states he placed second in OTL, but I still think Ferraro should be able to take both of them down and win enough electoral votes to squeeze by with a win. A map would be great if anynone were willing to make it up.

This is my best guess:

With the economy in the dumps, the economy still dominates the election, but because Ferraro is seen as being too liberal by many the election is much closer than it was in real life.  Ross Perot runs slightly better in this election as well.  The election isn't called for several days, as Iowa is too close to call and a recount is demanded by President Bush.  In the end Ferraro wins Iowa by a few hundred votes and as a result she wins the Presidency becoming the first woman to do so.

Electoral Votes
Ferraro/Clinton  271
Bush/Quayle      264
Perot/Stockdale     3

Popular Vote
Ferraro/Clinton  40.0%
Bush/Quayle      38.5%
Perot/Stockdale 20.9%
