I wonder how Scarborough's interns would feel about him running?

Low blow.

McCollum will most likely lose unless the GOP has anything better than an average mid-term election.

Oh, come on. He's not that weak.  Tongue  The guy did just get elected statewide.

Anyway, CNN just had this story on and said how it would be another problem for the GOP. LOL @ them. I think it's generally believed that the party is better off without Martinez running.
Huh? Why should it be?

Jeb Bush: top-tier candidate. He may still be hurt by the Bush brand, but  he's still quite popular in FL.
Charlie Crist: Not running.
Bill McCollum: Him again?
Marco Rubio: Perfect. He'll hold the Cubans, he's a nidea-driven conservative, and he's young and charismatic.
Richard Crotty Who?
Connie Mack: He has a golden surname.
Adam Putnam: This howdy-doody looking nimrod has a strong profile and could beat McCollum in the primary.

Democrats

Alex Sink: Bipartisan appeal, supported by business interests - good candidate
Ron Klein: Excellent fundraiser, but he only won by 10% against a weak opponent this year
Allen Boyd: Barring a fractured primary, he's too conservative to be nominated by Democrats
Robert Wexler: Hah-hah!
DWS: She's too busy climbing the ladder in the House

Jeb would easily win the seat despite the unpopularity of W.  Jeb was a very popular and successful two term governor and would be hard to beat in Florida.

I'd be shocked if he ran.

How come no one has mentioned the woman who barely lost to Martinez in 2004?  What is her status among Democrats?  Seems she might want to make another run.

...because Martinez was clearly not popular in Florida. He was mediocre, at best.

If McCollum, Jeb and Scarborough don't run, this Rubio guy has my support. He has "rising star" written all over him.

Hey, this Rubio guy appears to be a gift from God...

2012 - Battle of the Messiahs - Obama vs. Rubio

And just for the record, Rubio was a Huckabee guy this year during the primaries.

I'm sure Jeb remains very popular but becoming an advisor to Lehman Brothers might be a bit of an issue - http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/03/jeb.bush/index.html

I doubt that that would be fatal. Anyway, here's my list for candidates that I'd support (in order):

1) Jeb
2) Rubio (did some research on the guy. He looks great. He replaces McCollum as my second choice)
3) McCollum
4) Scarborough (very unlikely anyway)

You forgot one:

5) Scarborough's dead intern

Yes I know - two swipes against Scarborough, who I don't like...  What a surprise...

Heres my list of candidates
1. Jeb Bush
2. Connie Mack
3. Bill McCollum
4. Joe Scarborough

I still think Mack is a rising star in FL and his support of Mitt Romney only improved his image for me. Though I fear Jeb Bush may be jsut as bad on Amnesty as Martinez I think he would be unnoposed in the primary were he to run.

Oh, great. Another reason for me to have doubts about Mack.  Tongue
