My roommate unknowingly recorded me on video yesterday talking about our good pal Phil's problem.

Not a good sign if she doesn't always sit next to you. If she had, you'd be in.

True, but on the flip side, if she never sat next to you, you could pretty much forget it.

Guys, I appreciate everything but I just want to make clear that this really wasn't meant for advice.  Tongue

I still say you just introduce yourself to her when you sit next to her.. and things should flow from there... talk about the class work.

She doesn't always sit next to me.

Do NOT ask her about her hair.  I'm sorry... this is bad advice.

Haha, yeah, I agree.

For all you know, she could have noticed you too and she's been sitting there the whole time thinking you just don't like her

Yeah, I know but then I worry about her acting totally disinterested and I'll never forgive myself for possibly making her feel uncomfortable.

Stop thinking.  Start talking.

You could analyse it for the rest of your life.

Another option though - If you have any mutual friends, have one of them slyly find out what she thinks of you.  Just have him/her say something off-hand about you and see how she reacts.

We don't have any mutual friends. The girl is a mystery.  Tongue

Oh, and I just did something related to all of this. God, I hope it works.

Well, I hope it all works out for you, buddy.

P.S.: You're pretty hot so I don't see how she couldn't have noticed you.

Follow the discussion, friend. She doesn't have one. And I know your little plan. I'd add her, you'd see her name on my Wall and you'd stir up trouble. Nice try.  Wink

She doesn't have one? Excuse me? Any college girl worth anything these days has a Facebook. Are you sure about that?

The fact that she doesn't have one makes her cooler, in my book.  Smiley

Nothing against Facebook. I love it. However, I like the mystery.

The only girls I've ever met that didn't have one were mysterious alright, but not a mystery I was interested in.

I agree it's cool she's not on facebook.  Might mean she's not self-absorbed, not that everybody on facebook is.

Good luck man.

No, but girls I've met tend to be anti-social if they don't have one. They don't have to be obsessed with it--I know I'm not--but it's still nice to have.

Like I was saying earlier, I had a relationship with a stunning girl who was Iranian for quite a while,

You make it sound like she stopped being Iranian.

Not that there is anything wrong necessarily with Reaganfan's advice, but this Atlas Forum may not be the best place to get dating advice.

I mean, the "What is grosser, Smoking Cigarettes or Oral Sex?" thread went on how many pages?

My dating advice thread helped thousands, I'm sure.

I might also want to add that you might not want to go all Young Republican on her right off the bat if she's an Arab, college-student in Pennsylvania (four Democratic categories).

I agree it's cool she's not on facebook.  Might mean she's not self-absorbed, not that everybody on facebook is.

Good luck man.

I find at Berkeley that 50% of girls who are above my social class have hidden profiles.

I imagine if this gal is in a Sorority or feels in any way private (likely) she simply has her profile unsearchable.  That's what a lot of people do.

And no it's not cool to not be on Facebook
(unless you have a reason for things being private, which many people do).  I just found someone's driver's license and I had to send it to them a couple weeks late because their profile was hidden and I was emailing all of her community college soccer coaches searching for her email (to no evail), thus I eventually sent it and a pouch of change to Socal.  I once lost my backpack with my laptop in it during a late night escapade and an old acquaintance of an acquaintance that I kind of knew found it on campus and facebooked me so I could get my laptop back (saved big bucks).

Let me be the first to admit I have no idea what is 'Facebook'.  But let me also point out that it is always cool to refuse that which everyone else has embraced.

As for Keystone Phil's tale - my dear Phil, I can give you no advice.  But I wish you the best of luck and cannot wait to hear more of what happens...

Well, it's networking for college students.  Maybe I feel more prone to losing things so I value having a way for people to contact me Smiley  But I moonlight in a security booth some nights and it'd be nice to have a way to contact half the people whose ID cards I find and whatnot!

But like I said, hers is probably hidden.

A profile can be unsearchable? I had no idea. Anyway, in my book it is cool to not be on facebook.
