Who did you initially support in the 2008 primaries?
Who did you think would win each party's nomination?

I supported McCain from the jump.  Though I might've switched to Sanford had he gotten into the race.  For the Dems, I thought their best candidate would've been Warner, but after he declined, I would say it was Richardson.

Since Warner didn't get in, I thought the nomination would go to John Edwards.  For the Republicans, I never thought Rudy or McCain would get it.  I actually thought Fred Thompson was gonna win for a long time.

I initially supported Bill Richardson, but I knew it would end up being a two-horse race. I never gave the edge to Hillary, though, that I remember.

I supported Giuliani.

I guess I thought he could win.  He was the favorite at the time.

I supported Edwards and thought he would probably win, though I gave Obama pretty good odds as well. I was certain though, except for during the month of October and in the period between New Hampshire and South Carolina, that Clinton wouldn't win.

I intially supported Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico for a prolonged period of time of eleven months, until I finally jumped on the ever expanding Obama bandwagon in early December 2007. During those tedious eleven months I knew that Senator Clinton was going win the Democratic Nomination in 2008, likewise with the Republicans either nominating Mayor Giuliani or Senator McCain. And look how those predictions turned out.

I supported Obama for the Democratic nomination, and up until about Virginia-ish I thought Clinton would win.

I supported McCain for the GOP nod, and actually thought better of his chances than most others did.  I had good enough foresight on the Giuliani collapse/flow to McCain over Iraq issues that I wish I hadn't shut up about it.  But I didn't have faith in my predictive abilities, as I usually shouldn't.

I supported Ron Paul since January '07, but I thought it would be Romney vs. Clinton

Gore, then Gravel.  I still passively rooted for Obama but that became more active once it began to appear as if he had a chance.  I always thought Clinton would win.

on the GOP side?  Gingrich, then continually Romney all the way through.

Looks like I was one of the few people on the Obama bandwagon since the beginning (December 2006). For a long period of time (June 2007 to the Iowa caucuses) I believed Hillary had it wrapped up. Iowa changed everything.

For the Republicans, I really had no idea. I thought their candidates were pretty piss-poor, but by December I could tell that McCain was making a comeback and would probably be designated the candidate by default.

I supported Edwards early on and drifted throughout between (in no particular order) him, Dodd, Biden, Richardson and Clinton. I was supporting Edwards at the time he dropped out. I only jumped on the Obama train sometime in February or March once it was a two way between him and Clinton.

I always maintained since 2004/2005 that Clinton would not win the Democratic nomination and that some sort of anti-Clinton would emerge and defeat her eventually (nailed that one). The Republican side I never had any real idea who was going to win, although I was thoroughly convinced even into early December that there was no way in hell McCain was going to pull it off (missed that one).

Obama, although back in 2007 I figured Hillary would win.

Wacthing Obamas campaign at the start was like rooting for the underdog wildcard football team with unknown players.

Supported Biden and to a lesser extent Kucinich, thinking Hillary was a lock.  I later switched to Hillary, then Obama, then to Hillary, then Obama, to Hillary in time for the MS primary, and to Obama after all 50 states voted.

I supported Biden until he dropped out and upon seeing Obama's Iowa victory speech shifted my support to him.  However I always thought Clinton would win after her big NH win.

I assume your classifying Senator Clinton's January 8 victory over Senator Obama in the New Hampshire Primary "big" as in for her campaign's momentum? If you indeed classify Senator Clinton's victory in New Hampshire as in "big" margin wise, I would have to call you one crazy fucker.

I've been an Obama booster since 2004 and I figured Hillary would win at the opening moments of the campaign.  After Super Tuesday I figured it was 50/50 and I was 100% certain Obama was going to win the primary before Texas and Ohio even voted.

I thought Gore would be unable to resist the opportunity to be President and believed that he would enter the race and change the dynamics of the campaign.  While supporting Obama throughout the primary, I also wrongly thought the Jerimiah Wright issue would ultimately unravel Obama's campaign.
