A Parody of the Hillary vs Obama thread.

Sen. John McCain decides not to run due to health problems. So the major 3 GOP contenders are Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Rudy Giuliani. Although Iowa and South Carolina are won by Huckabee in the primaries, Giuliani does strong showing and wins in New Hampshire. Romney does strong in The West, Huckabee does strong in The South, and Giuliani does strong in The North. It finally boils down to a Romney victory in May, and Huckabee supporters are upset. Huckabee announces he will run as an Independent, and makes many of his supporters excited. Giuliani sees Huckabee's enthusiasm and decides to run as an independent in June as well. In late July, Sen. Obama who is the Democratic Nominee, suffers an automobile accident and dies. Hillary is eager to win his delegates in time for The Convention, but Bill is involved in some major trouble and she decides to run. The Democrats pick Sen. John Edwards at last resort during The Convention, but his sex scandal is found out. The Democrats dump him and pick Bill Richardson, though it hurts them even more. Election day comes.

Discuss with maps.

My prediction:

Giuliani: 119 EVs
Romney: 180 EVs
Huckabee: 231 EVs
Richardson: 8 EVs

The House probably picks either Huckabee (more likely) or Romney.

With the Republican vote split between Romney, Huckabee, and Giuliani, the Democratic nominee, Richardson, wins in a landslide.

Independents Huckabee and Giuliani win no states.

Romney wins possibly only Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and maybe some deep south states.

So, despite the DNC being in shambles, they still win?

Yes, almost certainly. The only way they could blow the election in this scenario is nominating Mike Gravel.

I believe you forgot to mention the Representative for Ohio's 10th Congressional District Dennis John Kucinich. If the Democratic Party nominated anyone but former Senator Mike Gravel and Representative Dennis Kucinich then they would lose the election quite handidly.

Even Kucinich would have a chance.

I beg to differ. I couldn't really see Dennis winning anywhere a part from Vermont, Massachussetts, Rhode Island and potentially Minnesota, New York, Connecticut, etc. Also, I highly doubt that your map Mr. Dole would actually occur in this scenario. Its as simple as a Richardson blowout. Thanks in part to the economic crisis.

So, there is only 1 democrat and 3 republicans, but somehow the dem candidate loses in a landslide winning just  2 states? Lol

Even with the democratic party in ruin, they would win in a probable landslide against 3 different republican candidates who would pretty much split the vote everywhere

This is pretty much the best (read: most hackish) possible result for the Republicans:

Richardson, red, 454 EVs
Huckabee, green, 46 EVs
Giuliani, yellow, 29 EVs
Romney, blue, 9 EVs
