I know that Obama won every precinct in my home county of Marin, CA at least.

Edit: Oh, by the way, I am currently working on the Boulder County map Vepres requested.

Not the Bronx -- there are actually some intensely GOP areas there.  He lost one precinct 71-29.

He lost one precinct in Manhattan, but it only had 3 votes.  The next closest was 54-45 Obama.

Other randoms: Maui, HI...
and Hawaii HI.

I think that was already mentioned (as "Honolulu" Tongue)

Is this a very dry joke, or a brainfart?

nclib listed Honolulu as a possibility. McCain won two precincts there however (not in the Honolulu CDP o/c). Honolulu is not Hawai'i. I suppose you know all that, though. Smiley

I actually had in mind large counties, so I mentioned Honolulu, though it is actually less Democratic than the state. As for smaller counties, I'd imagine many black-majority counties in the South, at least the ones with a black majority in each precinct.

I don't remember if that was a dry joke or a brain fart, which probably means I was just in a transient state of elevated dumbness when I posted that Sad

Looks like the only counties so far with Obama carrying every precinct are Washingon, DC and Prince George's, MD. Any other (large) counties have this? Perhaps: Bronx, Manhattan, some in Bay Area, New England, Honolulu, St. Louis (city), St. Louis (MN), Hudfson, NJ, Baltimore...

McCain won several townships in St. Louis County, some chunks of "unorganized territory" plus the city of Orr (I'm using the Minnesota municipal definition of "city" here, Orr is a very small town.) For some reason the national park area of St. Louis is somewhat Republican (or more accurately contains some Republican areas.) Orr is in this area. The far southwest corner also contains some of the Republican voting areas. None of the population centers had any McCain precincts though.

Depending on your definition of "big", Obama won every precinct in Alexandria and Arlington, Virginia. He only came about 3 precincts short in Norfolk.

Would a map for Salt Lake County be possible? Is there at least precinct data for it anywhere online?

I think so. There are some precincts results here and a shapefile at this site, although I'm not sure how current the latter is.

This link has precinct maps for every North Carolina county (though not with Atlas colors or shading). Click on 2008 General Election by VTD, then select county.

BTW, do we have a thread for forumites' 2008 precinct results? Mine was stronger for Obama after they allocated absentee and early voting.

Any luck finding NC GIS?  NC actually allocated most of the ballots to their home precinct in 2008 - only 1.8% of ballots statewide can't be allocated to a congressional district in my final tabulation.  I'll be uploading the NC data soon and posting the CD data.

Thanks,
Dave
