You're right, Leahy is also a FF (as usual).

A little craven, but probably the least stupid thing to do politically. This looks a little grubby, but the alternative would, aha, have looked really bad (and far worse than it would have actually been...)

I know someone else who voted against Lieberman but I can't say Smiley

...  The message of "revenge before national security" isn't going to resonate

Where did you come up with this message?

The news media that doesn't regularly read the DailyKos and today's amazing aneurysm.  I wonder if he's going to attempt to punish the people who supported Lieberman the most in 4-6 years.

Merkley apparently voted against Lieberman (or he's lying to us. We'll never know really.). Merkley looks to be one of my new favorite Senators if he keeps this up. Smiley

If I did, it would give it away totally and I could get in trouble.  But it's not someone juicy or anything like Blanche Lincoln would be.

Did Lieberman get to vote for himself?

I guess Senate Chairman is the job you get if you want absolutely zero accountability. The rest of us are accountable for our actions.

Lieberman would be out of the job in a heartbeat if the MSM and Lieberman/the GOP didn't reframe the entire issue to be about "revenge."

Democrats have removed various senators and congressmen in the past from their chairmanships for endorsing  Wallace and Goldwater, it's a common precedent.  The Democrats just don't want to start off their first fifteen minutes of rule by what will appear to most people as an act of revenge (even though it's not).

Everyone is thinking about this too logically.

Gee, I'm glad to know that because Lieberman kept his friends who benefit from his warmongering in the media happy with him so that they could force the Democratic wing of the Republican party to vote to keep him in the warmongering position as Homeland Security chair, where he'll probably spend more time investigating Obama than he spent investigating Bush. There is no excuse. Lieberman has done a sh**tty job, has core disagreements with real Democrats, and stabbed both the party and his home state in the back. If the Senate Democrats call for money, I will give them vulgarities.

No.  He was excluded from voting.

Look, it's as simple as this. They have to go to work with this guy every day for the next four years, like it or not. Why not take the easy way out?
