I don't know if a thread like this has been created, but I was looking at http://4president.org and noticed that some campaign logos caught my eye, while others were just plain ugly/uninteresting.  For the record, I'm not an artsy type of guy and have no experience in graphic design.

I'll start with the ones I like first...

 
Obama/Biden 2008
I don't like the little O symbol, but I like the font, color,  and placement


Richardson 2008 primaries


Bush/Cheney 2004
Basically took the 2000 logo and italicized it, making it more "aggressive", good for the national security theme , but the flag doesn't make much sense


Kerry 2004 primaries


Gephardt 2004 primaries
I like how the stars go from "dull" to "bright"


Bush 2000 primaries
the use of dark navy blue is interesting


Gore 2000 primaries
I like this one, but would be nicer if the star was symmetrical rather than stylized


Gore/Lieberman 2000
based off of the Gore primary logo


Quayle 2000 primaries


Clinton/Gore 1996
this may be my all-time favorite


Dole/Kemp 1996


Kerrey 1992
interesting


Bush/Quayle 1988
always loved this one


Reagan/Bush 1984
timeless (except for the "'84", of course)


Reagan/Bush 1980
unique and to the point


Hartke 1972 primaries
haha, the balls on this guy


Ashbrook 1972 primaries
for the illiterate


Humphrey 1968 primaries
interesting


Goldwater/Miller 1964


Johnson 1960 primaries

I like the idea of an eagle, but they could've made it look less like the U.S. Postal Service


Warner for Senate 2008

Obama's signage, logo and overall graphic design is lightyears ahead of any other political campaign I've seen.

Mark Warner's has a very "modern" appeal to it as well.

Perdue's is nice.  Based on Gore 2000 obviously.

Hagan's is unique, but I think it's best to stick to red, white, and blue.  Ex: I think McCain/Palin 2008 would've looked infinitely better if the yellow were substituted with red.  I would imagine they were trying to sell the concept of McCain as "a different kind of Republican". 



Also, they should have left the narrow font that was used in the primaries.

McCain/Palin 2008
Again, I don't like the gold, and I don't like the font.  The "rays" in the background are kind of cool, though.


Brownback 2008 primaries
looks like it was picked up off the scrap-heap


Kerry/Edwards 2004
I read an article comparing Kerry/Edwards to Bush/Cheney '04, saying how Bush/Cheney was perfect for symbolizing strength and security, while Kerry/Edwards was the complete opposite


Dean 2004 primaries
corny


Bradley 2000 primaries
14 stars?  If you're going to use that many stars, at least make sure they amount to 13.


Keyes 1996 primaries

Dukakis/Bentsen 1988
looks like it was done on MS Paint


Jackson 1984 primaries
I understand "Rainbow Coalition" and all, but it's still ugly

The 1970s were the Decade of Bad Taste.

I think the 80s (in terms of "style") were far worse.

Do you find anything innovative, classic, clever, or aesthetically pleasing about that logo?  Kind of uninteresting to me.
