This is all kinda like cutting off your nose to spite your face, which is a common habit of Minnesotans, it appears.

So you think this is all worthless and it's pointless to conduct the recount because Franken will win? Wink

I really don't know.  It appears like that.  I'm just trying to figure out why Minnesotans keep electing politicians that will only seriously embarass their state.  Must be the BRTD/ilikeverin gene.

Also, I'm trying to figure out the point of giving the Republicans such a lightning rod.  You realize, I hope, that if Franken gets in, it's only a matter of time before Franken verbally or physically attacks someone on the Senate floor.  Or makes a Bachmann/Schmidt-like quotable (if not ten of them).  He can't control himself - heck, he couldn't even stop himself from yelling in Coleman's face after one of the debates.

Things like this (and also Stevens winning, as I said before, although he won't stay for long) make me want to do drastic things in response.

time for a few more of those hundred vote "errors" in Franken's favor!  maybe Hennepin will kindly do that for us.

As I said before, if anyone does that, it'll be Duluth, not Minneapolis.

After Florida 2000, Alabama 2002, and FL-13 2006, we owe the Republicans a lot of tableturning.  Washington 2004 was the first and this ought to be the second.

If you can't win the vote simply keep recounting until you do!!

I support this course of action if it's done in Barkley's favor.

Or one of those industrial towns in the southeast.

Both Franken and Begich are now slightly favored on Intrade....Chambliss heavily favored in Georgia.

Speculation seems to be that the remaining ballots may favor Begich quite substantially, as apparently absentees and other early votes counted before election day broke 61-39 in his favor. I'm in no position to agree or disagree.

Mostly partisan spin.  They're not counting until the deadline for receiving absentee ballots.

I am now so glad I voted for Franken. My vote might've counted twice! On the other hand if I voted for Coleman it might not have counted at all.

This is why Franken is favored on Intrade.

Let's see, Mark Ritchie and two RAMSEY COUNTY judges make up a majority, I wonder what the decision on a majority of those ballots will be...

And who chooses this board? The legislature? The SoS office?

and this being Alaska that we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised if a huge portion of these turn out to be undervotes or simply disappear or are disqualified on arcane technicalities.

Mostly partisan spin.  They're not counting until the deadline for receiving absentee ballots.

Most of the counting will happen on Wednesday, actually, as they've done most of the cross-checks for the absentee/early ballots against those who've actually voted (which reduces the number slightly).

Amusingly, the 15 HDs (out of 40) that Stevens won with 50%+ contain roughly 46% of the ballots left to count, supposedly.

I also don't know anything about absentees being counted before Election Day.  Only early votes are, and as always, they skew heavily Democratic in Alaska.  Absentees are usually fairly close in line with election day ballots.  Of the ballots left, at minimum 1 in 6 ballots is an early vote.

The margin on the SoS Website still stands at +206 Coleman, but it hasn't been updated for 7 or 8 hours.  Any word on how today's adjustments went?

I wonder if Mark Ritchie will call up the Reservation leaders and ask if they can chip in and "find" an extra dozen votes here and there.

So you believe that Coleman won but dislike him so much that you would advocate fraud if that's what it takes to defeat him?

There's no way to tell who really won. So all I care about is the better guy winning.

Besides, we need some revenge for 2000.

I'm beginning to think this "recount" is bullsh**t.  Something here is very suspicious.
