Its a simple question, but for you, what election, national or local was your personal favourite, whether you enjoyed the campaign or loved the result. For me, I followed the US Presidential election of 1996 closely, and enjoyed the coverage, even if the events that caught my attention were slightly low-brow, such as Bob Dole's fall. As for the UK, I stayed up all night in 1997 to watch the Conservatives get slaughtered. I saw all the major 'scalps' and sat in awe watching the computer maps being flooded with red. What was your own favourite?

Well, of course, for me it would have to be 2000.

my favorite is the 1912 presidential election
my least favorite is the 2003 MS governor's election since it was so silly and nasty. [and musgrove lost]

I did not like the outcome of the 2002 Iowa Gubernatorial Election. What's worse is Doug Gross is running for governor again in 2006!

Spain 2004 as it conveyed the following very simple message:

No, it conveyed the message: Bomb us and we'll back down like little girls.

Spain, the new France!

Hm, my favourite election would probably be the referendum on the euro in Sweden, september 2003. It ended the right way, I had a lot of personal involvment and it was very David against Goliath. No one thought us on the no-side stood a chance, as we were out-spent 10 to 1 and behind in polls. But we won in a landslide.

My least favourite election would be the last general election in which the SAP won. Again. Tongue

Of my life?  1992.
Of the 20th century?  1948.

Of my life?  2000.  That was one seriously fun 10-hour rollercoaster ride, until I finally crashed at 5 am.  And it wasn't even decided until six weeks later.  One of the fondest memories of my life.  One of my best friends, who watched the returns with me that night, is planning on driving up from Madison to watch the 2004 returns with me.  I can't wait.  (It makes things more fun, also, if you are ok with either outcome.)

Of all time?  1860.

1997. Where you still up for Portillo? I was.  Plus Goldsmith jeering David Mellor was a gem.

Thanks for using an actual argument instead of throwing something from way out in the blue that had no bearing on the conversation(rolls eyes in extremely sarcastic fashion so that the moron reading this understands that the writer is being sarcastic.)

1992 or 1996. I guess 92, because watching the video of Stockdale's VP debate fiasco, and watching the late Phil Hartman portray the Admiral in an SNL skit, had to be one of the funniest moments in any election.

I remember very little of 92, and most of what I've seen came from stock footage. But the 96 coverage was awsome.
