Obama - 49%
McCain - 43%

PPP surveyed 1,239 likely voters on October 4th and 5th. The survey’s margin of error is +/-2.8%. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

The internals of this poll are much like the ones from Rasmussen yesterday. McCain actually leads among Independents. The difference between the 2 polls (Rasmussen: McCain+1) is probably the fact that Rasmussen weights and PPP not: They have a 10% Democratic advantage in their poll. The true state of the race is maybe in between.
