I didn't see the debate, but while I was out shopping I passed a strip club with no cover charge, so I swung by to see if there was anyone worth getting lapdance from (there wasn't.) I did however see a small part of the debate in the pool room, some foreign policy questions, Biden ripped on McCain over his Spain gaffe, Palin sounded clueless about Israel. So was the rest like that?

Yeah and they actually decided to have the election tonight, too. Obama won with 57% of the popular vote and even carried...North Dakota!

For any person with at least an average IQ who cares about actual answers and substance in debates, she was a disaster.

No she wasn't a complete disaster. That doesn't mean she didn't have fumbles and such.

She did better than your average person thought she was going to do (but about as well I expected her to do, FWIW).

Let's get real, she gave a substance-free debate. And she completely disregarded almost half of the questions.

she did very well.  biden did okay too.

im a dirt road hick, but even i was kind of shocked that a lawyer didnt know exactly what article one of the constitution deals with.  but of course, the media wont cover that.  it certainly isnt as important as katie couric's stupid gotcha questions.

She "lost" on points but reassured her base because she exceeded expectations. Of course they were so low to begin with... I knew this would happen. Probably won't be much of an effect in the polls.

Palin did just fine, especially against someone who has been debating for the past 30 years.

But swing voters are the ones who decide these things.

You're right, but I think she appeared woefully uninformed even to the average swing voter.

I'm not sure if she had any really awful moment, but her performance overall was lousy.

it certainly isnt as important as katie couric's stupid gotcha questions.

What was "stupid" about asking Palin to name Supreme Court cases she disagrees with? She should have to know some, besides Roe and Brown, which everyone knows. Yet she failed miserably because she knows nothing about the Supreme Court, one of the branches of Government she may have to deal with down the road. We are not electing a hockey mom, she should have to demonstrate some intelligence.

I did notice that Biden got the Articles of the Constitution mixed up. But everyone knows Biden is competent, even if they disagree with his views. Most people still don't know if Palin is.

I wouldn't say complete disaster. She was definately less competant than Biden and had to rely on acting "cute."

what does that have to do with being vice president?  nothing.

she isnt running for legal scholar.

yes, her answer was a little awkward, but i think it is meaningless.  it was a gotcha question.

and despite my being a grandson of a sharecropper, i can name at least one supreme court decision i disagree with, the recent decision regarding the handguns ban in dc.  take that couric!

All that is relevant because she could easily end up President.

Yes, the American people deserve to know her position. We know that Biden isn't a fan of Bork, how about her?
