Suppose Michael Bloomberg decides on an independent run in 2008, after Clinton and Huckabee win their respective party nominations. Assume Bloomberg gets on the ballot in every state, spends $1 billion on the campaign, and gets included in the fall debates. Any opening for Bloomberg in a race where the Democratic candidate is a fairly polarizing figure and the GOP candidate's religiosity is, let's say, a bit too overt for the tastes of many non-evangelicals?
