Did anybody know that John McCain was a POW?

Thank you, GOP Convention, for letting me know!

Thank you, GOP Convention, for letting me know!
And thank you Democratic Convention, for letting us know that Barack Obama was a community organizer in Chicago!

The Reps are playing to the strength of the McCain brand.

Granted to us pols, there is not much new, except maybe some of the recent bio of his family, who Cindy helped introduce us to.

Pearl Harbor wasn't trivialized in the same way 9/11 has been for personal gain. In fact, politicians, at least in Hawaii were afraid to talk about it because it was seen as too sore a subject. Take it from my Grandma, a nine-year-old living in Honolulu at the time of the attack, who had a bomb (unexploded) dropped in her neighbors back yard. PH was a difficult issue to discuss, even seven years after it happened.

What happened to the "bamp bamp" sound at the start of each act?

For someone with a fascinating story as McCain the video and intro was kinda lame.

The Democrats actually lost heavily in the 1942 midterms, partially because of Pearl Harbor happening on their watch, and partially because they seemed to be losing the war, which contrary to Zell Miller's memories the Republicans did not neglect to point out.

And, of course, they have to show the lone protester.  Roll Eyes

I just spotted a local State Representative in the crowd. That was kind of cool.

Okay, now I am getting pissed at CNN.  They keep showing the handful of protesters.

I'm sorry, but those people are worthless.  If I interrupted them, they would go on for hours about how I was "taking away their free speech," obviously they have no problem breaking in and interrupting legitimate political discourse.

Don't the Republican organizers have control over the cameras? Because they keep showing that FF up in the stands protesting.
