I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board who watches the TV talking heads "discussing" politics these days and wonders what happened to our national dialogue. Things weren't always this way.

For some reason of late when I see such nonsense passing for intelligent discussion, my thoughts keep turning to the late CBS newsman Eric Sevareid. Watch this 4-minute farewell video from 1977 to see how far the tone has fallen when it comes to TV journalism.
