I still had my Windows Media playlist from watching the Katrina coverage in 2005 Sad

This is the first time in history that Jefferson Parish has been ordered a manditory evacuation.

It appears that Mayor Nagin and Governor Jindal have done a very good job of preparing the New Orleans area and making resources available to residents without access to transportation.

They just had Barack Obama by phone on WDSU.... I'm all for bringing him on to help encourage residents to leave NOLA... but having a campaign appearance in the middle of an emergency newscast seems absolutely ridiculous on the part of WDSU.

Eastern Oklahoma is preparing for anywhere between 6 and 20 inches of rain from late Tuesday through Thursday with the remnants of Tropical Depression Gustav.

We're supposed to get anywhere between 1 and 7 inches here in central Oklahoma where I live during the same time frame.

The storm is expected to get pulled away by a cold front that is now passing through Montana on Friday leaving us dry for Friday and Saturday.
