The Early Show needs to get Obama to announce the VP in their interview before CBS News goes belly-up from low ratings and no advertisers.

George Stephanopulos sez VP will be recognizable
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/stephanopulos-o.html

"If you listen to Barack Obama and the people around him, they certainly seem to be signaling that the choice will be someone who has instantly recognizable national security experience," Stephanopoulos said. " That means Joe Biden. Maybe Evan Bayh. Not Tim Kaine of Virginia. And maybe even the big surprise, you know, someone like Hillary Clinton or Al Gore."

Gore > Clinton in every way for a VP pick.

Kaine's current plane ticket is to leave for the convention tomorrow
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gxVW-aUPQsPkU0JKEleSPNCyxSsAD92N3IAO0
Kaine plans to fly Friday night directly from Virginia to Denver, site of next week's Democratic National Convention, three people with knowledge of the governor's travel plans said. The plans could be changed if Kaine is told he needs to fly to Springfield instead.

That settles it: Tim Kaine is the pick.

Is the Republican Mayor of Oklahoma City going to give a speech there?

Ray Mabus is campaigning for Obama in rural Pennsylvania right now.

This is my dream.

Many loony people already consider Obama to be the anti-christ.  Selecting somebody with the last name of "Mabus" wouldn't help (see Nostradamus).

I'm now slightly more inclined to think it's going to be Biden, but I think I'll stick with Bayh... them filming that ad footage a week or so ago keeps nagging at me.

Obama name-drops Biden today in a speech
http://www.whsv.com/news/headlines/27261129.html

"This is why I've joined with people like Joe Biden to increase a billion dollars of investment every year, putting more money into economic development in Pakistan," Obama said.

Marc Ambinder's Sources say that Kaine's private body language indicates he is not the VP pick.

Personally, I think most of the clues point to Bayh.

1) Biden has blurted out that it wasn't him.
2) Olbermann says that one of the three told him that he wasn't the VP.  Which of the three is most likely to say that?
3) Bayh and Obama filmed a commercial last week of them together that has yet to air yet.  Isn't that weird?  If it's a generic commercial, it risks losing relevance every week you wait.  It's not like Indiana is very far away from Obama's headquarters in Chicago for future commercials.
4) There was that initial leak about Obama's event in Indianapolis.
5) Obama said he wants someone with economic credentials
6) Obama says he wants someone who will "challenge him" and someone that he doesn't always agree with - sounds like a coverup for choosing a centirst
7) Obama says he wants someone who doesn't have a big ego.
8 ) Obama has never campaigned with Biden to my knowledge while he has had TWO "trial run" events with Biden
9) Obama had an hour-long conversation with Bayh in a car Wednesday last week.
10) Sebelius has mentioned that one of the themes for the VP's day is bipartisanship and being a centrist is sort of bipartisan.

I disagree.  If people around Kaine say that he is acting more down, or when asked if he knows who the VP is he'll sigh and say "No" but does not act like he mean it, that's a valid tip.  I don't know what they mean by body language though.

I think Kaine has been sunk ever since the convention theme was announced.  As soon as Kaine saw that he told people privately that he didn't think he was in the running anymore.  Sebelius and others were also sank by that theme.
