Eh i don't think the fundies should be "blamed" but perhaps we can convince them to teach people to practice safe sex. In the end we are just horny little bunnies lol. But of course Aids isn't funny, especially when it occurs to the poor who cannot afford the medication.

You're right.. HIV is alsmost always somebody else's fault.  If you knowingly have HIV and have unprotected sex with someone, you should be jailed and labeled a public health risk.

I just get really mad that people in the south are always the ones bitching about morals when they have the highest rate of AIDS and murder and such... if they just wouldn't be so damn hypocritical, I wouldn't have a problem.

I think their parents being fundies is part of the problem in the first place.  The kids are going to go and do dangerous things because their parents hold such strict views.

Yeah I have to agree with Alcon, their fundism isn't all their fault and lots of people who aren't fundies(african-americans) have the high crime rates and AIDS stuff because they are poor and it is a revolving circle mainly because of our country's sh**tty minority/poor policies and education system.

Maybe so, but 90% of Social Conservatives are Fundies...and 80% of social conservatives are Republicans and 90% of fundies are republicans. I mean, there are exceptions, like Okie, but still he's becoming "Blue washed". In other words, you may find a couple on the street, but don't bet on it.

I think what has led to all this is the polarization of people in the south.  Nobody seems to want to talk to eachother for whatever reason.. and all those negative forces have kept the victims from getting the help they need.

When fundamentalists get rules passed in their local public schools to have abstinence only education because they believe that's the way it should be, they are imposing their beliefs on other people who do not share the same views... so, the fundamentalists have essentially denied the non-fundies the opportunity to be educated about safe sex practices... and since htey are not fundies and are going to have sex anyway, the risk goes way up.

People need to step back and look at the problem and then work together to solve it.  The fundamentalists will have to accept that comprehensive sex education will lower STDs and unwanted pregnancies and actually help people to live the life that the fundies think they should live.
