In 2006, I endorsed Lieberman over Ned Lamont because Lamont was a 'one-trick donkey', for whom it was all about Iraq. Low and behold, now we have Lieberman endorsing McCain - and it's all about Iraq, as if nothing else matters

This basically hit the nail on the head. Lieberman is a hardline liberal on every issue, except for Israel & Iraq. So what does he do? He chooses to emphasize his disagreement at every step, so that the party that he actually agrees with on almost everything hates his guts.
Sometimes, I wonder if he knows that he's committing political suicide, is too senile to know, or just doesn't care anymore.
