Afleitch divided Breizh into Scottish/Welsh electorates with 55,000 pop.

Here is the map

Going to go around naming them and grade them politically speaking.

Ille-et-Vilaine, no order

1 Mordelles-Saint Gregoire (Morzhell-Sant-Gregor): Leftie Rennes suburbia with pockets of UMP support in Saint-Gregoire, Mordelles. PS
2 Saint Malo-Dinard (Sant-Maloù-Dinarzh): Right-wing stronghold with strong centre in Saint-Malo. UMP
3 Cesson-Chantepie (Saozon-Sevigneg an Kantpig). Rennes suburbia with little UMP pockets in Noyal-sur-Vilaine and Cesson (fast eroding). PS
4 Bruz-Saint Jacques (Bruz-Sant-Jakez-al-Lann): Possibly the most solid PS seat there would be. PS
5 Redon-Bain de Bretagne (Redon-Baen-Veur): True tossup seat. Left and right fight it out in Redon, UMP has narrow (very narrow) edge in Bain, and totally owns the left in the east of the constituency (Martigne-Ferchaud etc). Sarkozy 2007: 53.79%. Narrow UMP
6 Vitré (Gwitreg): Ultra-safe UMP stronghold. UMP

To be continued Smiley Going to divide Rennes into 3 seat using cantonal data.

In Ille-et-Vilaine, everything would be PS, except Saint-Malo-Dinard, Vitré-La Guerche and maybe the south from Redon to Bain to Retiers and Martigné-Ferchaud (without SW suburbs of Rennes, it would be easier for the UMP, but Bain is pinker and pinker).

Even the district which sprawls from Cesson-Sévigné to Chantepie and Chateaugiron would be won by the PS: left voters in Vern, Nouvoitou, Chantepie, Acigné and Cesson would be enough to cancel the right advantage in Chateaugiron and Noyal.

In the west, Bécherel-Montauban-Maure-Guichen would be a socialist one in its north and south ends and not enough UMP in the middle to erase left lead.

Fougères-Antrain would be a small win for the PS (in real life, this one plus Liffré should have been a socialist gain in 2007, but the left was highly divided and, in the run-off, a centrist picked left votes to beat the old UMP candidate). Sure, this redistricting excludes Liffré, but I still think the left would make it.

Just for the record, I did this 'blind' - so I have no idea who would win what and what community links etc would be severed. Which is something (the community links at least) that I am most considerate of when I do this sort of thing for Scotland
