Hubert would have done somewhat better than McGovern but it still would have been a Nixon landslide.  I think the popular vote would be 57-43 and some states would be close but I think the electoral vote would be 446-92 for Nixon.  Hubert wins: MA, RI, MD, WVA, NY, MN, HA and DC.

Nixon wins but by less of a margin than in our 1972.

Richard M. Nixon/Spiro Agnew (R): 400 EV, 54% of the PV
Hubert Humphrey/Warren Hearnes (D): 138 EV, 46% of the PV

Richard Nixon wins re-election in 1972 over former Vice President and incumbent Senator from Minnesota Hubert H. Humphrey. Although Nixon's victory is that of a comfortable one, Nixon's margin over Humphrey is smaller than his RL victory over South Dakota Senator George McGovern. Missouri, in this 1972 Nixon/Humphrey scenario would be a pure tossup in my mind.
