I asked the same question last week, don't feel bad.
She drove morale into the ground as CEO and effectively killed the Bill & Dave style of management that had run the company since its founding.... This certainly won't help McCain in states like Colorado and Oregon that have had large numbers of HP employees over the years. Of course, the merger with Compaq has come to be regarded as a success, although opinion looked decisively different at the time.
