Who didn't see the debate or the clips from 1988? Well, picture if that were the election. The Dems nominated Bentsen, and the GOP Dan Quayle. Bentsen has Mario Cuomo on the veep spot, and Quayle puts Howard Baker on the ticket. How does it pan out? Reagan is still in the state he was in politically in 1988: approvals lagging in the aftermath of Iran Contra, but high favorabilities, and the approvals move up eventually. But there is no Willie Horton to come out of the woodwork. How does it turn out, even in the aftermath of the Reagan Revolution?

Quayles would be a disaster as a Presidential candidate; he loses 374-164.
