I'm surprised.

And skeptical.

Who knows?  I can't imagine doing much better than Kerry but if this is true then it also looks good for Bruce Lunsford.

It won't be 2004 forever.

This is a Change Election.  I don't know how likely it is for Obama to do better than Kerry, but I do think things may change in ways that we didn't expect.  Kentucky voted for Clinton, don't forget.  And Kentucky now has a Democratic Governor.  We'll see.

I know it won't.  I was expecting Obama to underperform Kerry, not a repeat of 2004.

I was kinda joking.  That's been a running theme around here.  I agree with you though.  I thought Kentucky was trending to the right and that Obama's not a great fit for the state.  That said, it's a state with some Democratic roots, that aren't fully gone, a poor economy that could benefit Democrats, and one that has shown a willingness to vote Democratic in other statewide races, so... you never know.

I'd expect McCain wins by 15 points, personally.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Obama notch 40% in Kentucky.

Not only is it a "Blue Dog" Democratic state, but the leader of the Republican Party is about as popular there as Mike Krzyzewski.

I don't think that is totally the case, but it seems more true in regions like Ohio and Kentucky then say Colorado and Montana.

Why make a fool of yourself. I'm glad I'm always on your mind, though.

That's cute! He's doing a poor job of it, though. He shouldn't take it prime time till he can improve on it.

As you should be. We have a long way to go. There will be plenty of time for Obama to screw up.

Now maybe people can get over the ridiculous ideas that Kentucky is going to be one of McCain's top three states and West Virginia is going to be more for him than Idaho, etc.
