I will keep everyone updated on the AL East.

Tonight Boston and NYY:

Boston opens up a very important series with Anaheim.  If they rack off a few more win it may be hard for anaheim to catch them.

So it's Boston (Schilling 16-6) v. Anaheim (Lackey 11-10)

---

The Evil Empire (Vazquez 13-7) plays Cleveland (Westbrook 11-6)

The last month or so has been really bad for me with baseball.

The Indians have really fallen out of things. I thought that they had a good chance. And the Orioles were about at .500 but then they lost 15 straight and really started to stink.

What I think will happen.

Yankees over Twins
Red Sox over A's

Yankees over Red Sox

Cardinals over Braves
Dodgers over Cubs

Cardinals over Dodgers

Cardinals over Yankees

World Series:
Yankees over Cardinals

It'd be fun to see the Yankees pitching staff be slapped silly by Pujols, Edmonds, and Rolen.

Disclaimer: I'm a Twins fan. And, no, I'm not bandwagon... started liking them in 1992 and they had losing years from 1993-2000, finished above .500 in 2001 but still missed the playoffs. Quite diehard.

Playoffs:
Twins over Yankees
A's over Red Sox

A's over Twins

Cardinals over Dodgers
Cubs over Braves

Cardinals over Cubs

A's over Cardinals

The Twins are the most dangerous team in some ways, and here is why: Johan Santana. In a 5-game series, he starts twice. Basically, that means 2 wins. Radke starts another, and he's better than most. Silva and Lohse are weak, but you do get lucky sometimes.

Also note the advantage of the Metrodome. The National League Champion's worst nightmare is having to play 4 games in the Baggy Dome. Worse than Yankee stadium.

The Twins probably have an equal or better shot at a title than the Yankees. The Yanks have a lot of holes... first base right now, the rotation is shaky, second base, middle relief... I'm not impressed. I'm not even sure they win that division.

Note: I put $500 on a 12:5 in favor of the Twins winning the AL Central. Anyone ever tell you money don't grow on trees? They were lying.

Last night the Indians ANNIHILATED the Yankees 22 to Nothing at Yankee Stadium!. It is the greatest shutout and loss in Yankees history! Take that Yanks! Bwahahahaha! That was so cool!

As for the World Series I hope that Chicago or Boston can win it, but my gut says St. Louis

Boston will win the AL.  I am very confident about that.  The onyl team that is better than them is Oakland in the AL, but Dotel sucks this year and the team is cursed to begin with.

Considering the Yankees best pitcher is a 52 year-old Cuban off arm sugery, it's hard to see them winning anything much come October.

I'm from Pittsburgh. All I care about is Football season. With a team like the Pirates, It would be less of a waste of my time, if I sat on my fat ass, and drooled all over myself. Watching the Pirates is like watching an episode of the Three Stooges, only multiplied. My brother and Dad like them, but I just call them "Charlie Brown's", meaning overly optimistic.

If Boston was going to win it, it would have been lasy year. The Yankees will probably win the AL East, which means they will have home-field advantage. I want the Red Sox to win. If you said, Team A (Yankees Roster) is this, and Team B (Red Sox Roster) is this, I would pick Team B. However, I just don't think that in October, the Boston Red Sox can beat the New York Yankees.

At least it takes a week for the Mets to fall apart. And they were in the World Series just a couple years ago. The Pirates haven't even been to the Playoffs since I was four years old. They last went to and won a World Series nine years before I was born. I think the most fun I get from baseball are my famous "Pirate Put-downs" Everyone in school loves them, LOL.

Oh yea, my bad.  Then it's Cardinals over Braves and Cubs over Dodgers.  Then Cardinals over Cubs.

Millar hitting .313, with 15 R, 3 HR, 20 RBI for the month-- and that includes his mini-slump he broke out of Sunday.

Next Year is NOW! We are hitting like last year and we have better pitching and our manager has shown himself to be Torre-esque since the Nomar trade. He's shuffled lineups perfectly.

The Olde Towne Team has won eight in a row, 14 of their last 15, 17 of their last 20, and 20 of their last 24. They've built a lead in the wild card equal to the deficit they face in the AL East. Minus last night's hiccup from Bronson Arroyo, they are getting the strongest starting pitching this side of the St. Louis arch. Their mashing of the ball is reminiscent of the team that was never out of games last season.

Some numbers from a phenomenal August: The Sox led the majors in runs (176) and slugging percentage (.496). They were second in the American League to Anaheim in batting average (.302 to .301), second in ERA to Oakland (3.48 to 3.88), second in opponents' batting average to Oakland (.238 to .243) and fourth in fielding percentage (.986). Boston's 21-7 record matched the Cardinals for the best in the majors for the month. Jason Varitek led all Sox hitters with a .449 average, with a .513 on-base percentage and .826 slugging percentage. Bill Mueller hit .380, Mark Bellhorn .325, and Johnny Damon had a .370 on-base percentage. Manny Ramirez led the team in home runs (9) and RBIs (25), while David Ortiz had 6 homers and 21 RBIs. Sox starters were a gaudy 19-6, with Tim Wakefield and Curt Schilling each 5-1, Derek Lowe and Martinez 3-1, and Bronson Arroyo 3-2. Foulke, meanwhile, was 1-0 and 9 for 9 in save opportunities, with a 1.84 ERA.

I hope you don't mind.
------------------------------

Tonight at the stadium it's Cleveland (Lee 10-6) v. Empire (Lieber 9-8).

Great matchup up north at Fenway: Anaheim (Colon 13-10) v. Lowe (12-10).  Kevin Millar DH's for the first time that I can remember.

Go Sox!

Why are you adopting us? Are you not a MFY fan?

And we keep rolling...

9 in a row, 15 of their last 16, 18 of their last 21, and 21 of their last 25.

I'm with Tweed.  Now that the Mets have begun their annual meltdown, I need SOMETHING to cheer for as a huge baseball fan, and the Sox' biggest rival happens to be the %#@$%'ing Yankees.

So.....GO SOX!
