um...OF COURSE Obama is going to accept this, and annihilate McCain in the debates

You have to seriously wonder if McCain is up to the job of president if he doesn't even realize that he's nowhere near as good of a debater as Obama...

Uh, Obama is well regarded as a poor debater. Being a good speaker doesn't make someone a good debater.

Obama would crush McCain. Last time I checked McCain has no better debating skills than Obama and I don't think his rhetoric flies with 55% of the American people.

Obama would crush McCain because McCain has no better debating skills than Obama?  Whatever you say, hack.
No because his views aren't popular with the American people, so he really can't win.

Both McCain and Obama are sub-par debaters. Fact.

Neither are are great or awful when it comes to debates. They are pretty mediocre, with several issues regarding their styles. I would think most of the sane members of the forum could agree with that.

Anyway, the candidate who expects to lose usually asks for weekly debates, so this isn't shocking in the least. Obama should agree to some but weekly debates will eventually become rather dull.

Jim Lehrer: Senator Obama, what is your position on Health Care?

Obama:  People want change, Jim.

Jim Lehrer:  Uhhh... yes, but how do you plan to change the system?

Obama:  Hope.

Jim Lehrer:  Okay, do you think that's enough?  Can your "hope" change the system?

Obama:  Yes we can.
