Hi,
I've created a new polling page so that we can track general election polls for Obama-McCain and another of Clinton-McCain.

For the polling database we already have, I'd like to change all the data to Clinton-McCain (at this url)

A new database has been created for Obama-McCain (at this url)

It would be great if I could get some help filling these out and cleaning up the existing database.
Many thanks,
Dave

Dave, could you also create a Link for entering the Obama vs. McCain polls where it currently says: "Latest 2008 Election Polls" ?

So that it says: "Latest 2008 Election Polls Clinton vs. McCain" and next to it "Latest 2008 Election Polls Obama vs. McCain"

Thanks

Great! Cheesy

Of course, had this come up a day earlier poor Alcon wouldn't have had to enter 50 SUSA polls into the wrong database... Wink

I know - sorry Alcon - I just noticed that.
Also added the links form the page.  I'll also (later) modify the table that show the summary results for the last 10 polls.
Thanks,
Dave

Do any of these polls include third parties and independents?

I would update most of the polls but I can only update the ones I put into the database.

I've completed modifying the McCain-Clinton SUSA polls back to 2/25 (including Alcon's 50-state polls).

Dave, what do you propose we do with earlier polls that did not poll McCain vs. Clinton?  should they be deleted from the database?

Why do both maps look relatively alike? Just not complete yet? ND isn't a tossup on both sides.

You're right - that's odd.  It's colored toss-up on both maps, but it should be Strong GOP on the Clinton map and toss-up for Obama.

IMHO, they should be commented out, i.e., they should still be visible on the state's poll page, but marked as not being C vs. M not contributing to the state's poll average.

The Map for Clinton vs. McCain is not showing CT, OR, SC, or WA the correct color.

I've updated the WA, OR, WV polls (all of them) - so they should generate correctly now.  I'm deleting the old polls that did not poll Clinton-McCain.
Thanks,
Dave

Is there some way we could only take the most recent poll from each pollster in determining the poll average for a state, i.e. not have a new Rasmussen, a new SUSA, and a SUSA from 1-2 months previous as the 3 polls used in the average for a state?  Also, is there a way to take more than just 3 polls to determine the poll average for a state if there were, say, 5 polls done in the last week?

I think it's time to put the Obama/McCain page as the default on the homepage rather than Clinton Mccain.

^^^ Agreed. This is becoming absurd.

Thx for making Obama vs. McCain the standard for the Forum poll entries.

Could you also change the 10 latest polls in the Forum so that they show the Obama vs. McCain polls ?

And if you click on "Latest 2008 Election Polls", could you link it to Obama vs. McCain as well ?

Thanks Smiley

Now that Sen. Clinton has formally dropped out of the race and endorsed Sen. Obama, will the Clinton polls page be deleted?
