Obama- Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon, Michigan, Washington, New Hampshire.

Bush- Florida, Missouri, Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, Indiana, North Carolina, Montana.

Bush would have destroyed Obama on the experience issue, and on political positions. The Obama of 2004 was portrayed as far more liberal then now. Bush picks up every state except Massachusetts, Vermont, and DC.

NY and MD could go either way. Bush would easily defeat Obama in 2004 due to the experience issue (Bush would say that it is too dangerous giving a state senator the nuclear button when the U.S. is constantly facing the threat of terrorism), due to Obama's staunch liberalism, and due to the good economy in 2004.

I was more meaning both of them in their primes. I think it would be close, but the states would've been further apart. For example, Obama would win New York by just as large of a margin and Bush would win Texas by just as much of a margin.

Of course Bush would've won in 2004 and Obama would have won in 2008. They would've each gone over 500 electoral votes in the elections they won against the other one.
