..Both of which never find a (often otherwise diametrically opposed) group to pander to. Look at how they try to appeal to socially conservative blacks, hispanics, etc. PLUS gays and religious minorities.

that applies in our big tent system... without the big tent i see the minority interest/identity politics types splitting from the lifestyle wannabe red types with gays tending to be a swing bloc that goes between the 2 parties

I would probably vote for Reform, Libertarian, and Republicans, in that order in any given election.

However, I couldn't be a member of any party in good conscience. There are certain issues where I would have significant disagreements with the parties I listed above.
