It's very strange that Obama is stronger in Washington that in what one usually considers "solid" Democratic states, like California, New York and Massachusetts.

Especially since there aren't that many swing voters in Washington. We are a very polarized state. That's also why a campaign by a Republican isn't very functional. Just look at our Gubernatorial races. I don't think there has been a Republican governor since I've been alive.
