Unprincipled neocon scumbag collectivist.

Unprincipled?  He was anything but unprincipled.  He stood by his views, and didn't change them for political convenience.

negative, for the most part, but that doesn't mean he was a "horrible person" or anything.

There was no greater friend to the merchants of death and destruction that is the military-industrial complex than Henry 'Scoop' Jackson (D-Boeing).

"Of all the northern Democrats, Jackson stands more with the Republicans on the militarization of American politics than any other man. He is always on the side of those seeking more military power, and more, and more."

Positive. An economic liberal and a hawk. That's the kind of politician I like. What were his positions on various social issues (especially abortion)?

To his credit, Jackson was correct on that one issue and opposed abortion-on-demand.

Funny how that's the one issue that benconstine decides to break with him on.

Ben is pro-abortion? I never knew that. And if Jackson opposed abortion (at least in most cases), then he's even more of a FF in my book.

Yes. Down in Atlasia, ben even opposes banning abortion at the regional level.

Pro-abortion and pro-choice are not the same thing.  But yeah, Jackson opposed the Roe decision, believing that life begins at conception, which I disagree with.  And Libertas is right, that is basically the only issue where I disagree with Jackson.

Yes, it figures that you disagree with the one issue Jackson was right on. Tongue

Nah, he was right on everything except abortion and the Japanese internment.  Other than that, he was perfect.

Which I'm perfectly okay with since my future region will support a woman's right to her own body (which in a week's time will be the Midwest).
Dear Women of the Northeast, Southeast, and Mideast: the people of the Midwest respect your right to your own body.

EDIT: Original post was way too harsh/aggressive, thus the edit.

So?  I am pro-choice and oppose the Roe V. Wade decision (see: "Constitutionality").

Which I'm perfectly okay with since YOU LIFERTARDS WON'T GET ANYWHERE IN MY REGION (which in a week's time will be the Midwest).
So bring over all your oppressed women who want control over their own bodies to our region, our doctors will gladly take the extra revenue.

Extra revenue? Your region will be begging for every cent that it can following the inevitable collapse in your industrial base as a result of declining birthrates. Meanwhile the Northeast economy will boom and we'll be happy to take those jobs from you for our citizens, whose lives are actually valued.

You speak as if though every woman in the Midwest and every woman who immigrates here only live here to get abortions.  Believe it or not there are a lot of women in the Midwest region who do not get abortions, in fact I would say a vast majority of women who have children don't have abortions.
PROTIP: Just because we allow women the right to their own bodies doesn't mean that they are ejecting fetuses parasites out of their bodies left and right.  Besides, aren't you the guy who is always complaining about how out of control the population problem is getting?
THe Midwest doesn't have a population problem.......I wonder why?

EDIT: I edited the post after realizing I might come across sounding like a complete jerk.  Sorry if I hurt your feelings Libertas.

Did you support Scoop's fellow neocon George W. Bush when he ran for president?
