If this could somehow happen, I'd imagine the Republicans would fight hard and Gore's minuses would catch up with him. Without planning it I ended up with an electoral tie.

The Republican machine is able to rally around Cheney, but he has an incredibly hard convincing moderates to vote for him.  However, with Gore placed back on the spotlight his environmental theories take center stage.  When people learn the truth, he is humiliated worse than WJB at the Scopes Trial.  Close, close result:

Doesn't Cheney have single digit approval ratings? And happens to be more associated with the Bush foreign policy than Bush is?

Well, LOL. (especially @DWTL o/c)

You live in fantasy land if you think Gore's incredibly flawed logic wouldn't cost him big, don't you think there's a reason he's not running?

It might hurt him a little in the South, but to the majority of Americans it is definatley not flawed logic and is the truth.

When in the hell has flawed logic played center stage in a President campaign?

Gore mops the floor with Mr. 12% approval. All he'd have to do would be to bring up the "hunting accident" and the media would do the rest.

THat's idiotic. You could say the same about Cheney, why isn't he running? He's scared of his flawed logic too?

Yes, it's almost a sweep.  The man has a 12% approval rating, practically no popular issue to run on, and an awful Presidential personality.
