Yes, I used PCF because I assumed it would be known more than SFIC.

As much as I dislike Communism, National Socialism is even worse.

PCF. IIRC, they're pretty moderate as far as Communists go. Though I could be thinking of one of the other French leftist parties.

More or less, they do work closely with the Socialists and Greenies (which are hippies) but they're still your average Communists (or Eurocommunists).

Being part of the government at times and being in perpetual coalition with the PS makes them more moderate then other European communist parties that are fringe or are entirely independent.

Of the far-leftists, they're probably the least far left. Certainly LO and LCR are to their left.

The PCF is nowadays considered a 'left-wing party' by mostly everyone in France.  The Communists are never grouped with the LCR and LO in a "far-left" category, even though they may be similar and have some co-operation.

Communist regimes always wind up scapegoating people like me, and there is no economic freedom whatsoever unlike fascism. I really don't care how benign Commies pretend to be, they're all the same once in office.

What about fascists? The NSDAP once emphasized its S, you know.

Fascism is always more Capitalist. You have some choice in what occupation you have, where you buy from (albeit with high tariffs for foreign goods most of the time), and your paycheck isn't totally confiscated. It's mostly just a symbiotic relationship between a really nationalist state and corporations. Whereas Communism is just a total command economy, and just about as repressive (if not more so) socially.

But we're talking about the French Communists here. Not the Russian Communists. Old school left, and without crazy racial ideas.

You can't implement communism without totalitarianism coming into play. Same with most revolutions, those tend to result in tyranny or 'ethnic cleansing' with very few exceptions.
