Because that isn't the case at all, and you either know it, and you're just reading the talking points handed to you, or you're ignorant. It's no coincidence that former inactive members in the RPP are voting for Mint. I just wish they'd all just register in the ARC so Hamilton can stop claiming how much broad party support his guy is getting, but then he can't make that claim, so he won't. Crap like this is what makes it hard to warm up to your party.

Actually, just if all your voters have about 200 posts on average, only post a few times a month, and then all of a sudden vote in the election all for the same guy who, for many of them, isn't even in their party.

I have been fascinated by the way the STV seat allocation works for some time. I still don't care much for the At-large seats as a whole though. Just found that tidbit about them slightly interesting.

I think the highest non-incumbent takes the seat of the oldest retiring senator.

     I've been deeply interested in the partisan breakdown of the Senate ever since the Senate History page was updated to include it.

     Non-incumbents take the seats in order of election, just with any re-elected incumbents holding the same seat they had going into the election.
