The idea that Mint, AHDuke and Vepres can pass together in the same election is very worrying.

Fixed.

afleitch had the highest vote total last time, actually. It was Franzl who won narrowly (namely due to Mint's vote).

That's some nice revisionist history there, but I'm not surprised you'll say anything to suck up to anyone you can.

In August, the JCP took pains to throw our support to DA candidates when possible. We carefully made sure to give support to Afleitch and made our final vote a strategic vote to Franzl.

Says the master of revisionist history. If Mint had voted for his own party, SPC and Franzl would have been at least tied.

I knew it was a DA Wink

Considering DWTL made efforts to prevent him from being reelected, and he still won, is enough to know that he is safe.

I advise you to go back and read the August voting booth, and take a look at the last two JCP votes. Both first preferences to Franzl.

Keyword: DWTL

DWTL also tried to prevent Mint this time, and while the election over, the results so far show that he hasn't done too great of a job at that.

Quick count:

13-Mint
12-Badger
10-Duke
7-Fritz
7-Afleitch
3-Barnes (2 Afleitch, 1 Badger)
3-Sewer Socialist (2 Badger, 1 Mint)
2-Jas (1 Badger, 1 Afleitch)
2-DWTL (2 Duke)
2-Vepres (2 Duke)
1-Al (Fritz)

For the bottom six candidates, I have shown which candidate in the top five their votes go to.

I won't be accepting write-in votes, thankee. An official Politburo press release on the subject will appear at some point.

1. Fritz
2. Badger
3. Barnes
4. Afleitch
5. Jas
6. Duke

And this guy told the JCP to endorse Barnes over Fritz.

Nice "persuading" there, bgwah Smiley

Fritz did the persuading, thanks.

I love Barnes though, really. I wish he could've won, but it's looking increasingly likely that he will fall just short of the top 5, so I was afraid of wasting my vote and hurting my party. In the future, though, Barnes will again have my support, of course, but right now I have to vote for my former colleague, even if his candidacy took me by surprise. Forgive me, Barnes.

Southerner that he is, Barnes will never forgive you. Demands for a duel will crowd the Court inbox, extra security will have to be hired.

MB, I was really expecting you to first preference Barnes, to give him more of a fighting chance.

I was planning on that, actually. But it would take several votes to get Barnes in a fighting position in the top 5, and there are still plenty of opportunities for Afleitch voters to turn out, so I was worried it wouldn't be worth it.

Is no one doing a count this election? Much less exciting without a count.

So I take it there have been no surprising turns since last night, then? Anyway, I think I'll be waiting until the last few hours to vote.

Nobody has been doing extended counts.

I could do one if people want, I have an solid understanding of PR-STV.
