According to Clinton and Obama, is the main problem with NAFTA and other free trade agreements the issue of environmental and labor standards, or is it free trade itself? So specifically, would Clinton and Obama be ok with NAFTA, CAFTA and all other free trade agreements if environmental and labor standards for other countries were raised, or would they just want to repeal them regardless?

My question is about the positions of the candidates, not the opinions of individuals, please keep this in mind.

Thanks,
Jacob

They both support (fair) free trade, as far as I know. None of them want to pull out of WTO or something, and they both voted for the Peru trade deal, if I remember correctly.

NAFTA is bad, but I'm not going to do anything about it.

Support in private, complain about in public. Which is the standard-issue Democratic Party position on free trade.
