The sample size for that subset can't be more than a couple hundred.

Exactly, about 400 people were interviewed for the nationwide Democratic poll. Considering that TX, OH, PA and some other states that will vote later have less than 1/3 of the US population, the subsample has about 100 people ... So, forget it.
