What are the odds of this ticket happening?  Feingold would shore up Wisconsin, and would probably help in the Midwest states, along with areas with large Jewish populations (Florida).  What are the downsides to picking Feingold?

An obvious "liberal" is not what is needed.

True, but I would think that the good outweighs the bad, since Feingold has a record of crossing party lines, and the fact that a major bill is called McCain-Feingold would be a bonus.

Feingold would be better in the Senate (or on the Supreme Court please?).

The ticket's too openly liberal - the jewish thing might be a hinderance in some places too.

That wasn't a problem in 2000, even though that Jew is someone I want nowhere near a ticket ever again.

If anything, it helped make Florida closer.

That was different, the head of the ticket was a white sthn Baptist - I did read a few things about Lieberman's presence hurting Gore in AR, TN, WV, KY (ie morons... but still) - Lieberman did more than likely win Gore Florida so good with bad.

Vice-presidential candidate rarely shore up states, though Feingold might make a small impact in Wisconsin. That said, I would love to have a man of Feingold's integrity and principle in the White House with Obama.

Which, according to everyone here, is what 70% of the public wants. Wink
