A squeaker for Al Gore. Tennessee, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are the deciding factors. Ohio and Pennsylvania fall narrowly to Gore. And Dole has a lead of 20 votes over Gore in tennessee up till the 95% of the vote is counted and the last five percent is big Al Gore numbers. Gore wins Tennessee by eight votes and with it the election.

Gore: 273 electoral votes
Dole: 265 electoral votes
270 needed to win
