How differently would this election have turned out had Sen. Hillary Clinton been the nominee, and not Sen. John Kerry?  Imagine John Edwards as her VP pick.

Maps would be welcome.

My best guess would be:

Bush/Cheney (R): 321 EV; 53% of the PV
Clinton/Edwards (D): 217 EV; 47% of the PV

I would agree with that. Hell, if Clinton would have a problem getting elected in 2008, I highly doubt she would be able to win in 2004.

I doubt Hillary would have picked Edwards, especially since she would have been in the Senate only four years at the time.

Something to this extent, Michigan could really go either way.

Bush wins comfortably - 7% nationally giving him all the states that were in the "barely Kerry" category along with Maine's 2nd CD. Hillary only wins the Democratic base, and considering 2004 was a good Republican year, and traditional values were the key issue, I doubt Hillary, being a woman, would have done much better than 182 electoral votes.

With Vilsack's endorsement she would of done well even back then as Vilsack was governor of Iowa.
