Hillary Clinton has accused Barack Obama of "using tactics right out of Karl Rove's playbook," referring to a mailer Obama has in Ohio where she says Obama is distorting her health care plan and her stand on NAFTA.

Will these "Karl Rove accusations" hurt Obama in Ohio, and possibly elsewhere?

Please discuss.

No. Her campaign is just being schizophrenic now. "We're the nice, womanly campaign...We're THE ANGRY, VENGEFUL CAMPAIGN, OBAMA IS KARL ROVE, BLEAARRGGGHH!"

It's not doing her any favors. Among other things, the audience at her rally where she made the remarks was more confused and frightened than angry when she had that outburst.

Ha! He has NO RIGHT to attack her on Health Care. Since when does the opposing candidate not get the right to scrutinize the other candidate?

Silly Hillary. If he were actually using Karl Rove tactics, he would accuse her of being a lesbian and imply that she'd had interracial sex. Rove/Atwater-type campaigns never focus on actual issues.

What's the purpose of this hyperbole and the constant hyperbole surrounding Hillary Clinton about how evil she is? There is probably more of this about her than there is about President Bush, even though he's a two-term President while she's still a Presidential candidate.

Ha! He has NO RIGHT to attack her on Health Care. Since when does the opposing candidate not get the right to scrutinize the other candidate?

He's using Republican Harry-and-Louise style tactics to go after her universal health care plan. If she did this to him you could bet all the lefties online would be going nuts. And he is trying to act as if his position on NAFTA is vastly different from hers, when in fact it is not.

Obama supporters have accused Hillary of using Karl Rove tactics in a factually correct flyer about Obama's votes on abortion when he was in the Illinois Senate. Those were no more misleading than Obama's current mailers.

So what were you being sarcastic in response to? Did Hillary really say that Obama had no right to oppose her position on health care? That would be kind of absurd given that they both debated it a couple nights ago, don't you think?

Just because Senator Obama chose not to present a universal health care plan, does not give him the right to attack me because I did

The NAFTA squabble is just typical politics.  It's what happens during a campaign and I wouldn't make too much of it.

I am more concerned about Obama's criticism of Hillary's health care plan.  In this case I believe he is undermining a key progressive cause.  Hillary's position on health insurance is the more liberal position and it is sad to see Obama's resorting to replicating right-wing Harry and Louise attack ads from the 1990s.  I thought Obama said we needed to "turn the page."  This looks more like the old politics of division.  For those wondering why John Edwards has not yet endorsed Barack Obama, I would point to this as Exhibit A.

She said by his actions, Obama was giving "aid and comfort to the very special interests and their allies in the Republican Party who are against doing what we want to do for America."  "Meet me in Ohio," she said. "Let's have a debate about your tactics and your behavior in this campaign." The two are scheduled to debate Tuesday in Cleveland.  In her criticism of Obama, she asked, "Since when do Democrats attack one another on universal health care?"

Obama had a ready reply to that. "Well, when she started to say I was against universal health care ... which she does every single day," he said.

It's Karl Rove tactics when he does it, it's contrasting positions when she does it.  Typical Hillary attitude.  I'm right so it's not an unfair criticism of your plan.  You're wrong and your evil for thinking my plan isn't perfect

She has a tendency to get a little loud, too animated and almost shrill when upset.  Obama should be very firm in his response but stay calm and presidential.  She will destroy herself with her tone, body language and response if it's anything like yseterday

Your about right... it's not the way for her to win over the wavering blue-collar Dems in OH and TX. That said, negative is perhaps the only way she can go now... although saying Obama is misrepresenting her position on NAFTA is a little rich (then again the Dems have struggeled with the NAFTA issue for a while now).

I'm not sure about the "presidential" part, but he certainly stayed calm:

Good demeanor.  Yes nice and calm.  Contrast that with her clip and you'll see quite a difference.

In the last several debates, my view is that he has looked much more "Presidential".  She has this habit of continually nodding her head to show she agrees with what Obama is saying.  I cannot believe her campaign staff has not advised her to stop that ( of course, they have been really bad advisers).  I don't think it comes across as very "Presidential",  But far worse, the camera is continually showing her agreeing with Obama much of the time.   This visually undermines her argument about he is just about speeches and she is about solutions because she is so agreeable with what he says.

Then again, we are talking about a Clinton campaign based upon Dick Morris triangularization methods and co-opting the opponents positions.  Yes, Hillary seems to be unable to adjust Clinton campaign tried and true techniques.  It's part of the Clinton fatigue that they seem unable to figure out.

Using Karl Rove's name is dirtier than any dirty trick Obama would pull.

Her Royal Thighness is 'not amuzed'.   Too bad.

I'm glad Obama won't apologize in the slightest.
