On the republican side, John McCain is nominated on the first ballot and he selects Mark Sanford of South Carolina as his running mate.

On the democratic nomination, Clinton wins Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania, she has enough delegates to not give Obama the nomination before the convention. The democrats go to the convention deadlocked, and Clinton wins after the super delegates have been counted give Clinton the nomination very narrowly on the first ballot. She selects former democratic presidential candidate, Bill Richardson as her running mate.

There is a third party candidate. In a stunning political announcement, former vice president Al Gore says that he is a candidate for the presidency as an independent and announces that Mike Bloomberg has agreed to be his running mate.

Discuss with maps.

This would never happen.  Al Gore would never run on a third party ticket.  You just made this scenario to give McCain a victory.

Gporter why do you come up with these ridiculous scenarios? It will never happen. Al Gore himself wouldn't do that.

There's no point in creating a thread like this.  Gore would never, ever run on a third party ticket, end of story.  You just wanted to create a story where the GOP wins.

Obama would be more likely to run as an Indy than Gore.

You're right, I probably should have given the GOP Idaho as well.

Al Gore totally spoils the election for the democrats. A stunning defeat for the democratic ticket. Gore swings California to the republicans by the thinnest of margins, as Gore does very well there due to the fact that the environment is a popular issue in California.

A landslide for the GOP ticket.

How about this: WHY would Gore run on a 3rd party ticket?

Jesus Christ, are you phucking kidding me?  That has got to be the most messed up map I have ever seen.  That is more of a hack map than anything I have ever made in my time here, including the map I posted in this topic.

Given the sequence of events that would have to happen for this scenario to occur, it's not a hackish map per se.  (It may actually be too friendly to Hillary, if anything).

That said, the scenario itself is about as hackish as you can get.
